hanaro-usa.com(이하 「사이트」) 운영자는 미국에 사는 한인 이웃들이 서로 묻고 답하는 생활 커뮤니티를 운영하면서, 필요한 최소한의 정보만 받고 그 정보를 어떻게 쓰는지 아래에 밝힙니다.
1. 받는 정보

2. 쓰는 곳
- 회원 확인, 로그인, 글쓰기·대화 등 사이트 기능 제공
- 스팸·사기·도배 차단, 신고 처리, 규칙 위반 대응
- 한 기기에서 간편로그인으로 여러 계정을 만드는 것을 막기 (기기 확인용 무작위 번호 사용. 이 번호는 이름·전화번호 같은 개인 정보가 아니며, 다른 사이트에서 이용자를 추적하는 데 쓰지 않습니다)
- 공지·비밀번호 찾기 등 서비스에 필요한 안내 메일 발송
- 장애 대응과 보안 점검
개인정보를 팔지 않습니다. 광고 목적으로 다른 회사에 넘기지 않습니다.
3. 대화 메시지에 대하여
대화 메시지는 사이트 서버에 저장되며, 종단간 암호화가 아닙니다. 운영자는 신고가 들어왔거나 스팸·사기가 의심될 때 해당 대화를 확인할 수 있습니다. 스팸·사기 신호가 강한 메시지는 자동으로 전송이 막히고 그 내용이 기록됩니다. 은행 계좌·비밀번호처럼 민감한 정보는 대화로 보내지 마세요.
4. 정보를 함께 처리하는 곳

법원 명령 등 법률상 요구가 있거나, 사람의 생명·안전을 지키기 위해 급히 필요한 경우 외에는 위 목적 밖으로 제공하지 않습니다.
5. 추적 거부(Do Not Track)와 광고
사이트는 현재 광고 추적·방문 분석 도구를 쓰지 않으며, 여러 웹사이트를 넘나들며 이용자를 추적하지 않습니다. 그래서 브라우저의 「추적 거부(Do Not Track)」 신호에 따라 달라지는 동작이 없습니다. 다만 회원이 글에 넣은 외부 동영상(유튜브 등)은 그 업체가 자체 쿠키를 쓸 수 있습니다. 광고나 분석 도구를 도입하게 되면 이 방침을 먼저 고쳐 알립니다.
6. 보관 기간
- 계정 정보와 기기 확인 번호: 탈퇴할 때까지. 탈퇴하면 삭제합니다.
- 글·댓글: 대화의 흐름을 위해 탈퇴 후에도 남을 수 있습니다. 남기고 싶지 않은 글은 탈퇴 전에 직접 지우거나 아래 메일로 요청해 주세요.
- 대화 메시지: 지금은 메시지를 하나씩 지우는 기능이 없습니다. 삭제를 원하면 메일로 요청해 주세요. 단체방은 방장이 방을 없애면 글과 사진이 모두 지워집니다.
- 스팸 차단·신고·접속 기록: 보안과 분쟁 대응에 필요한 기간 동안 보관하고, 필요가 없어지면 지웁니다.
7. 내 정보 보기·고치기·지우기
로그인 후 「회원정보」에서 직접 보고 고칠 수 있고, 「회원 탈퇴」로 계정을 지울 수 있습니다. 직접 하기 어려운 내용(보관된 정보 사본 요청, 대화 삭제 등)은 아래 메일로 요청하면 본인 확인 후 45일 안에 처리합니다. 이 요청을 했다는 이유로 불이익을 주지 않습니다.
8. 만 13세 미만
사이트는 만 13세 미만 어린이를 위한 서비스가 아니며, 만 13세 미만은 가입할 수 없습니다. 만 13세 미만의 정보가 수집된 사실을 알게 되면 바로 지웁니다.
9. 안전 조치
모든 접속은 HTTPS로 암호화되고, 비밀번호는 복원할 수 없는 방식으로 저장합니다. 관리 화면 접근은 운영자로 제한합니다. 어떤 방법도 완벽하지는 않으므로, 다른 사이트와 같은 비밀번호를 쓰지 마세요.
10. 서버 위치
데이터는 미국 서버에 보관됩니다. 운영자는 관리를 위해 미국 밖(한국 등)에서 접속할 수 있습니다.
11. 방침이 바뀔 때
내용이 바뀌면 이 페이지의 시행일을 고치고, 중요한 변경은 시행 7일 전에 사이트 공지로 알립니다.

Privacy Policy (English)
Effective date: September 18, 2026. If the Korean and English versions differ, the version that better protects the user applies.
hanaro-usa.com (the "Site") is a community where Korean Americans ask and answer everyday-life questions. This policy explains what personal information the Site's operator collects and how it is used.
1. Information we collect
- Sign-up: user ID, email, password (stored hashed), name, nickname. Optional: homepage/blog URL, birthday.
- Social login (Google, Kakao, Naver): the provider's unique user ID, email, name or nickname, profile image URL, and login tokens. When a provider does not share an email (e.g., Kakao), the Site creates a placeholder address. We do not request phone number, birth date, or gender.
- Activity: posts, comments, uploaded photos and files, votes, reports, activity points, and the region you select.
- Messages (1:1 and group chats): message text and photos, read status, block and report records.
- Parent verification: your child's school stage (e.g., elementary, middle) and the review result. We do not collect a child's name or school.
- Automatically: IP address, browser type, access times, cookies that keep you signed in, and a random device-check number stored in your browser.
2. How we use it
To provide the Site (accounts, sign-in, posting, messaging), to block spam and fraud and handle reports, to prevent one device from creating multiple accounts through social login (using the random device-check number, which does not identify you by name or phone number and is not used to track you on other sites), to send service emails such as notices and password resets, and for security and troubleshooting. We do not sell personal information and do not share it with other companies for their advertising.
3. Messages
Messages are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. The operator may review a conversation when it is reported or suspected of spam or fraud. Messages with strong spam or scam signals may be blocked automatically and logged. Please do not send bank details or passwords by message.
4. Service providers we share information with
- Vultr (USA): server and database hosting — all Site data.
- Cloudflare (USA): DNS, security, and content delivery — IP address and requested URLs.
- Google, Kakao, Naver: social login, only if you choose it.
- Font/asset CDNs: deliver fonts and page files — IP address and browser information.
We do not otherwise disclose personal information except when required by law (e.g., a court order) or when urgently necessary to protect someone's life or safety.
Google user data: information received through Google Sign-In (ID, email, name, profile image) is used only to create and sign in to your account on the Site. It is not used for advertising and is not transferred to others except the hosting providers listed above.
5. Do Not Track and third-party tracking
The Site currently uses no advertising trackers or analytics tools and does not track users across other websites, so it does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Third-party content that members embed in posts (e.g., YouTube videos) may set that provider's own cookies. If we add advertising or analytics tools, we will update this policy first.
6. Retention
Account information and the device-check number are kept until you delete your account. Posts and comments may remain after account deletion to preserve discussions; delete them yourself beforehand or ask us by email. Individual message deletion is not yet available — email us to request deletion; when a group-chat owner closes a room, all its messages and photos are deleted. Spam, report, and access logs are kept only as long as needed for security and dispute handling.
7. Access, correction, and deletion
Signed-in members can view and edit their information under "Member Info" and delete their account with "Withdraw." For other requests (a copy of your data, message deletion, etc.), email us; after verifying your identity we will respond within 45 days. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
8. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not register. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.
9. Security
All connections use HTTPS, passwords are stored with one-way hashing, and admin access is restricted to the operator. No method is perfectly secure; please do not reuse passwords from other sites.
10. Data location
Data is stored on servers in the United States. The operator may access the Site from outside the United States (e.g., Korea) for administration.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update the effective date above when this policy changes, and announce material changes on the Site at least 7 days before they take effect.
